Looking from Asian Perspective
Najib’s hope that the launching of Center of Malay studies at the Beijing Foreign Studies University will provide fresh understandings of the Malays became reality yesterday. Thousands of China dolls were seen lining up to register for seats in the newly created Malay studies department at the university yesterday.
According to 20-year-old XiuXiu, who registered for Understanding of Malay Men course, even the course syllabus has given her new valuable insights she needed badly. “I didn’t know they like women so much,” she said. Based on the brochure, the courses will be able to provide her a much better understanding on the Malay men, which she vows to put into practice the next time she comes to KL again. “Last time, someone told me that they eat people, so I ended up with some smelly Chinese Ahpeks who don’t shower,” she said. “The Ahpeks were so stingy,” she added. XiuXiu further clarified that based on her new understanding, Malay men are not cannibals and definitely not stingy but lazy. “It’s fine, if they pay more, I will do all the work,” she said.
Echoing XiuXiu’s comments, Prof. Wu said that based on his scholarly research, the only way to solve the Malay problems is to give them more money and discount on houses. “Maybe you should put it into a contract,” he advised Hishamuddin.
Elsewhere, MCA central committee members confirmed that they unanimously recommended Ka Chuan to be the secretary general. "If not, his brother would be very angry," an unnamed member said.
